Criteria and Guidelines
Winners will be chosen from among nominees who will be evaluated by the Pinoy Reporter Tagumpay Awards Committee (70% of the total vote) and by the public (30% of the total vote) according to the following criteria:
1. IMPACT significance of an activity, program, or project the nominee may have created, managed, or been part of, and how it affected the quality of life of the nominee’s constituency, community, or industry.
2. INNOVATION strategy or project that the nominee may have created, managed, or improved.
3. INVOLVEMENT - participation with U.S.-based groups, businesses, trade associations, government agencies, community members, etc.
4. MENTORSHIP description of nominee’s mentoring others, especially the youth in learning the nominee’s area of expertise, activity, program, or project.
5. SUSTAINABILITY what nominee may have done to ensure sustainability of nominee’s activities, such as continuing to make a positive impact, increase involvement of constituents, use of resources, etc.
6. PROFESSIONALISM description or example or nominee’s character, honesty and responsibility.
7. ANY ADDITIONAL QUALITIES THAT UNIQUELY APPLY TO NOMINEE, INCLUDING BEING A PIONEER OR FOUNDER OF AN ORGANIZATION, PROGRAM, OR PROJECT
8. ALL DESCRIPTIONS OF INVOLVEMENT, EXPERIENCE, SITUATIONS AND EXAMPLES MUST BE U.S.-BASED ONLY.
Award Guidelines
1. Deadline for nominations is April 15, 2011.
2. Winners will be announced and recognized at the Banquet Event on August 20, 2011 .
3. Any Washington State resident of Filipino heritage may be nominated for one or more award categories. However, a nominee cannot win more than one award in the same year.
4. Any individual or organization may make nominations. The Nomination Form must be fully completed and signed by both the nominee and nominating individual or the president of the nominating organization.
5. Each nominee will also be interviewed by phone or in person by the Tagumpay Awards Committee.
6. Each nominee will be scored by the Tagumpay Awards Committee (70% of the total vote) on a scale of 1 to 10 for each of the criteria mentioned above and by the public (30% of the total vote) through online voting between May 1, 2011 and August 1, 2011. Representatives from the Filipino American Association of Certified Public Accountants will be asked to tabulate the scores
7. Pinoy Reporter employees and their relatives and Tagumpay Awards Committee members are not eligible for nomination.
8. All nominations must be postmarked, hand-delivered, or emailed by April 15, 2011.
